Job Description: 

  • Scoping of project requirements to design requirements
  • Identify relevant mechanical engineering standards for reference
  • Solidworks & 3D printing design capabilities
  • Assist in shop floor execution of parts to be designed, fabricated and 3D-printed

Competencies to learn: 

 

(TSC) Design Development and Scoping

  • Understanding and scoping of project requirements
  • Identify design limitations and proposed solutions
  • Generate and articulate conceptual designs to suit the application and present to stakeholders
  • Reference relevant Engineering Standards

(TSC) Design Requirement Analysis

  • Identify necessary calculations needed for the design such as stress and structural analysis, force calculations and Finite Element Analysis.
  • Understanding and Identify enviromental specifications and material characteristics.

(GSC) Using CAD to generate 3D model and working drawings as per industrial standards for fabrications

  • Generate 3D models from conceptual design.
  • Converting 3D models into fabrication drawings
  • Understand 3D model mechanical design to apply necessary Geometric Dimension and Tolerances for fabrications drawings
  • Obtain and understanding Engineering Standards Requirements
  • Identify industrial standard equipments parts such as screws and bearings that can be use for the design
  • Identify manufacturing and machining limitation.
  • Identify assembly limitations and space constraints

(GSC) Additive Manufacturing

  • Identify 3D printing machine limitation and design changes
  • Identify additional process of 3D printed machine parts to meet design requirements
  • Generate 3D printing parts file from 3D model
  • Shop floor management

(TSC) Study and modify design

  • Read and understand working drawings mechanism principal
  • Troubleshooting mechanical design issues
  • Basics dimension measurements

Duration: 9 months

 

Requirements: 

  • Diploma in Engineering
  • Knowledge of solidworks

 

This position is for both recent graduates and mid career individuals. Graduates interested in this position should possess a Poly Diploma Qualification. Mid career individuals from any qualification level can apply.
