Position Title: Software Manager - ICS/PPSD/SM/DC

Job Description:
  • Collaborate with overall project managers and system architects in system solution projects involving multi-disciplinary technical domains, and responsible for successful deliver of software subsystem as a part of mission critical system solutions
  • Plan, design, develop, test, and deliver software subsystems, either through software subcontracting or in-house software development
  • For in-house software development, guide team development efforts towards successful project delivery
  • For software subcontracting, manage software subcontracting process, software vendors, software deliverables and integration efforts towards successful project delivery
  • Understanding and contributing to the technical solution from design through to code
  • Adhere to high-quality development principles while delivering solutions on-time and on-budget
  • Implementing and enforcing modern software development methodologies such as Agile and Scrum
  • Analyse and resolve technical and application problems
  • Participate in peer-reviews of solution designs and related code for in-house development
  • Work with QA to ensure software vendors practice appropriate software development methodologies
  • Package and support deployment of software releases
  • Provide regular project status reporting to overall project manager
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor degree in IT/Computer Science/Software Engineering or a related discipline
  • 5 or more years of software development experience
  • Participated in at least two complete cycles of SDLC
  • Prior experience in a technical leadership and/or software subcontract management position
  • Able to influence and drive software development and integration to meet key milestones and overcome challenges
  • Able to work in a multi-disciplinary team with good teamwork to deliver software subsystem as part of a mission critical system solution
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Experience designing and developing mission critical software
  • Experience with both Agile/Scrum and Waterfall software development methodologies 
  • Familiar with CICD environment and toolsets such as source control management systems, build and dependencies management tools and automated testing tools
  • Comprehensive understanding of object-oriented and service-oriented application development techniques and theories
  • Experience/familiar with a wide range of current/emerging IT technologies and solutions such as Windows/Linux OS, RDBMS/noSQL database, SOA/micro-service architecture, mobile application development and RFID tracking solution
